Role Responsibilities
The Analytics Solutions Associate is responsible for ensuring data integrity in Essbase cubes, a cloud-based OLAP solution, thereby guaranteeing reliable month-end and quarter-end outcomes. The role involves managing Planning & Analysis stakeholders through monthly forecast and budget cycles, delivering timely responses to stakeholder queries and committed deliverables, and maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
Furthermore, you will support core finance processes, including tax calculations, incentive compensation, and reconciliations. You will also be expected to troubleshoot cube and submission issues using structured analysis and sound judgment. As an integral part of the team, you will actively participate in defining requirements, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with technology and cross-functional teams.
An important part of this role is identifying automation and process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce errors. You will also be responsible for updating and enhancing standard operating procedures to strengthen controls and execution. Finally, your role will involve writing root cause analyses for issues and driving actions that prevent recurrence.
Qualifications and Skills
A successful candidate for this role will have formal training or certification in financial solutions architecture, business intelligence engineering, or related concepts with at least 3 years of applied experience. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field like business administration or accounting is also a requirement.
Knowledge of financial cube solutions (Essbase and/or other cloud-based OLAP solutions) is key, as is a working knowledge of Excel reporting add-ins (e.g., Smart View, Dodeca, Anaplan Excel add-in). Strong data analysis skills, including interpreting results and troubleshooting data issues, are also essential. A deep understanding of finance planning, budgeting, and reporting, including month-end and quarter-end cycles, is critical.
Familiarity with business intelligence tools, proficiency in advanced Excel functions and macros for data manipulation, interest in staying current on Essbase and financial analytics trends, exposure to multi-dimensional cube solutions outside of Essbase, and experience using Jira and basic project management practices are preferred qualifications.
