The role of a Senior Internal Audit Associate is of paramount importance in the Consumer Community Banking Risk Audit Team. This position offers talented individuals the opportunity to contribute significantly to the governance and operational excellence of the organization. Working in this role, you would be responsible for leading all aspects of the audit lifecycle, from planning to continuous monitoring. As a Senior Internal Audit Associate, you would also gain high visibility and exposure to senior executives across the bank.

Collaborating closely with global Audit colleagues and key stakeholders, you would maintain strong relationships while upholding independence. Job Responsibilities: Ensuring Audit Excellence
The responsibilities of a Senior Internal Audit Associate are diverse and challenging. They include planning, executing, and documenting audit activities, such as risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, report drafting, and follow-up and verification of issue closure. You would also ensure that audit activities are completed timely and within budget.
Collaboration with global Audit colleagues is essential to identify and report emerging control issues promptly to Audit management and business stakeholders. Maintaining the confidentiality and security of Internal Audit communications and information is another crucial aspect of the role.
You would also partner with stakeholders, business management, control groups (e.g., risk management, compliance, fraud prevention), external auditors, and regulators. These partnerships are vital in establishing strong working relationships while maintaining independence. To finalize audit findings, you would develop recommendations to strengthen internal controls and provide an overall opinion on the control environment.
As a Senior Internal Audit Associate, you would also take ownership of self-development, including stretch assignments, and seek out opportunities for continued learning and career growth. Staying up-to-date with industry trends would allow you to identify opportunities for innovation and strategic improvements.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
The role requires a minimum of 5+ years of internal or external auditing experience, or relevant business experience. A bachelor’s degree (or relevant financial services experience) is also required. Experience with internal audit methodology and the ability to apply these concepts in audit delivery and execution are essential. Other key skills include a strong understanding of internal control concepts, strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and strong analytical skills.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulatory requirements related to consumer banking and financial institutions is crucial. Experience with credit risk management processes across products, such as credit cards, mortgages, and auto loans, is also important. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment is a must.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
CPA, CIA, and/or an advanced degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm and/or an internal audit function within the financial services industry is also desirable.
