The Director’s role will be based in New York City, United States, and will be compensated within a salary range of $300,000.00 – $300,000.00. However, the final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.

The Role of the Director, Investment Banking, FIG
The Director will be expected to leverage their industry and financial experience to originate and execute financing and advisory opportunities. This role is pivotal in delivering on team business strategies and objectives, while ensuring that all activities align with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Key responsibilities will include deepening client relationships, coordinating with various product groups within GBM, developing and maintaining effective industry relationships, and playing a lead role in sourcing fee-generating opportunities for Scotiabank. The Director will also manage the end-to-end process for advisory and equity underwriting transactions, and assist in the training and development of junior bankers.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of nine years of industry experience, ideally in investment banking, capital markets, and/or mergers & acquisitions. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology is required.
Strong financial market and sector/product knowledge, coupled with robust quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory, are essential. In addition, the candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.
Other key attributes include a strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork, proven decision-making skills, and a high level of energy and a keen desire to learn new concepts. The successful candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain required FINRA registration and licensing appropriate to their functions and responsibilities.
