Role and Responsibilities

The Banking Associate is a key player at TD Bank, responsible for delivering the brand’s promise at the store location. The role includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services. The associate also provides advice and educational support to assist customers in achieving their financial goals.

Additional responsibilities include building trust with customers through educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations. The Banking Associate will also utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, deepening relationships, and attracting and retaining customers.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for the Banking Associate role should have at least a high school diploma or GED. One year of customer service experience is preferred, which can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other desired skills include strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Teller experience is also preferred.

Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is expected to provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD products to new and existing customers. The role also involves managing wait times, scheduling client meetings, and orchestrating customer walk-in traffic. The associate ensures compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures, and is responsible for maintaining the well-being of TD, its customers, and stakeholders.

Shareholder accountability is equally crucial. The Banking Associate is responsible for accurately processing cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests. Ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act is also part of the role to minimize risk and protect the customer.
