Role Description and Responsibilities

The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at the store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. The associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a Store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services.

Depth & Scope

The Banking Associate delivers end-to-end advice customers expect by building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations. They utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with Customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to ultimately attract and retain the customer. This role also requires an understanding of customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, ensuring a positive customer experience.

Education & Experience Requirements

The preferred candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This experience can be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, or military service. Demonstrated Customer Service skills are preferred, along with teller experience. Strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment are necessary, along with excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to schedule and prioritize work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a necessity and a notary license is preferred.

Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities

The Banking Associate consistently provides legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy and consider the impact of decisions on the well-being of TD, its customers and stakeholders. In addition, they ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.

Physical Requirements

The job requires the ability to perform sedentary work frequently and performing multiple tasks continuously. The associate should be able to respond quickly to sounds and operate standard office equipment continuously. There might be occasional domestic travel involved, but international travel is not required.
