The Role of Banking Associate
One such role at TD is that of a Banking Associate, a professional in banking who plays a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. This position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. Demonstrated customer service skills, teller experience, and a notary license are preferred.
What Does a Banking Associate Do?
A Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a Store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The Associate also utilizes TD’s systems and tools to engage with Customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to ultimately attract, and retain the customer. Accurate completion of everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform while uncovering customer financial needs and educating on products, services, and tools is a significant part of the role.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
At TD, the Banking Associate consistently provides legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. This includes establishing and nurturing customer relationships by consistently displaying product knowledge, actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral. On the shareholder side, the Banking Associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.

Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for the role range from performing sedentary work, operating standard office equipment, sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting/carrying items both under and over 25 lbs. Concentration for long periods of time, reading, writing and comprehending instructions, and adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing are also part of the job requirements.
