Overview of the Role: Relationship Executive in Technology Banking

In this role, you will be responsible for nurturing and retaining profitable relationships within the Commercial and Specialized Industries group, with a focus on Technology.
The Innovation Economy Technology team is an integral part of J.P. Morgan’s Commercial and Specialized Industries group. As a Relationship Executive, you will be at the heart of client acquisition and ongoing relationships with some of the most innovative companies in the world. Working both independently and as part of a dynamic team, you will deliver the entire firm to our clients.
Key Job Responsibilities
As a Relationship Executive, your duties will include:
- Building a market brand that represents Technology banking as the “Leading Innovation Economy bank serving the best and most diverse clients”.
- Developing new business in your market by acquiring new relationships, deepening existing ones, and leading internal strategic discussions across all our solutions including credit and payments.
- Relentlessly seeking out the best and most diverse founders powering innovation by leveraging a referral network built through business activities and relationship development.
- Championing a culture of innovation and a customer-centric mindset balanced with the ability to manage risk (credit, operational, and reputational) appropriately.
- Maintaining a passion for innovation, the start-up ecosystem, and entrepreneurship, leading to a desire to stay up-to-date with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships.
Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Banking products and services.
- An interest in and understanding of high-growth software, payments, ecommerce, and marketplaces.
- Excellent sales management and business development skills.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners.
- A self-directed, proactive, and creative approach; uses sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done.
- FINRA Series 79, 63 and Securities Industry Essentials licenses or the ability to obtain them within 180 days of hire.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and formal credit training. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, eager to contribute to a national team of like-minded, passionate Innovation Economy bankers.
